The <£0_ of D. tesaellatooollie havw In some individuals, besides of the usually oocuring sexual differences /i.e. the absence of dimples - „areolae" /and besides of the habitual distinction, a different pattern also in the pubescence on the 5 th abdominal sternite. I have In my colleotion /National Museum, Prague/ two o_o_ showing an entirely reduced stripe of the white pubesoence on the last abdominal sternite. Mr. Y. Kálik /ŐSR, Pardubice/ has four 09 with the above mentioned stripe in quite such a formation as the S - one specimen only has the stripe a little reduced so that the density of the white hairs is smaller. Mr. Kalik too has one o_ from Vladivostok /USSR/ with the stripe reduced nearly as in my specimens mentioned below. Since it may happen that some oo with the reduced pattern on the abd. sternite will be wrongly identified - and with regard to the existing keys based on the pattern of the abd.sternites of the oo\ - I include a more detailed description. Herewith I wish to point out a certain variability in the of the species mentioned. Dermestes tessellatocollis Mötsch, var. kali ki var.n. Holotype: China: Peiping. Western Mountains. Exped.
