/since they have en uncleft uncus/, followed by the genus &lauI have examined the morphological features of the populations of the several species found in our country, comparing them with those of the nominate forms, As a result, I have established the fact that only 24 of our 31 Polyommatini can be regarded as identical with the nominate form, 7 have only a geographical subspecies or a divergent form, whilst 2 of the 24 haw, besides their nominate form, also separate subspecies in our faunal area. Of the Lycaenini species,? differ from the nominate form, whilst one of them has also a different subspecies within the populations belonging to the nominate form. Of the Theclini, one only diverges from the nominate form. The presence of some Lyoaenld species has been shown but presently in our country. TheBe are: Syn ta rueus tslioanus Lang, C upido sebrus Bed., Maculinea areas Rott., Plebejus sephirus Priv.,and Lysandra thersites Chapm. Of these, telioanus , Bebrus . and sephirus have but one known population, even areas has but three, I have described in this paper the following new subspecies and ferme: 1. Maculinea aloon ssp. curiosa . This has been found recently on the plateau of the Mts.Bükk, - the male differring from the other alcon populations representing the nominate form by its blue basic oolor, sharply delineated margins and grey underside, the female by its more extensive blue tint.- 2. Lycaei des argyrcgnomon ssp. argyropeza . I could not accept the opinion of some authors, namely, that the Hungarian argyrognomon populations are identical with euergetes Staud.I have shown that the Hungarian subspecies differs from it in 4 essential points, - 3. Plebelas eephirus ssp. fatiçus. Its presence was established in but one point in Hungary, near Pót. Subspecies uhryki Reb., resembles it the most but the male differs from it by its basic color, narrower black margin and the stronger developed orangecolored spots on its underside. - 4. Ariela agestis ssp. pelorlon . A subspecies resembling ssp. all eus in its dark bafic color and
