A STAG FROM MYCENAF. 83 brown slip and matt SYR 4/4 reddish brown paint. Decoration: Seven parallel lines, probably part of a concentric triangle motif from the upper body of a closed vessel (Lerna, Pattern VIIe, Rutter 1995, 557-559). EH III. Cf. Middle Helladic Period Eleven fragments can be assigned to the Middle Helladic period. Three fragments from goblets represent the Grey Minyan, and eight sherds, from kantharos, goblet, jug and jar the Argive Light Ware. Chronologically all sherds can be placed to the MH II, MH III and transitional MH III-LH I period. 15. (Fig. 5a) Grey Minyan rim fragment from high-stemmed goblet. From Gonia. I), rim 22; H. 2.2; W. 5.5 cm. Fine fabric with almost no inclusions. Fracture 2.5Y 6/1 grey; slipped exterior and interior 2.5Y 5/1 grey. Rim on the interior burnished to high lustre. MH II-III. Cf.
