Four of these were issued under Antoninus Pius to troops stationed in Pannonian provinces. It therefore seems likely that the owner of the Siófok diploma was one of the discharged soldiers of an auxilia stationed in Pannónia inferior, which had regional fleet base. Pangerl discussing this fragmentary military' diploma three days before the current volume of Folia Archaeologica was sent to the press (ECK-PANGERL 2010 [201 1]). While their reconstruction of the text, its interpretation and the proposed date are identical with the ones suggested here, they were unaware of the diploma's exact findspot.
