István Vörös: A Denevér úti kovabánya agancsleletei (Budapest-Farkasrét)
86 ISTVÁN VÖRÖS F 5 - tine fragment - 8 pieces 55-195 mm long fragment cut off or broken off from different tines. Part G - cortex fragments Fragment of that cortex which are left after the cutting of the antlers: 18 of them were cleft from the vails of tines - Gl (1: 47-85 mm), while 13 ones from the walls of a beam - G2 (1: 50-200 mm). 4.2 The distribution and position of antler parts The distribution of those antler parts which had been collected from the excavated part of Denevér street flint mine is rather uneven (Table 2). Apart from separate tines most pieces originate from the middle and upper parts of the antler : 36 pieces D1.-2-, 4 pieces E. and 27 pieces С 1.-4., altogether 67 pieces. Only 6 pieces originate from the lower part of the antler: 2 so-called "long ' Al . and 3 socalled "short" A3 beam of antlers. There is only one beam base В in the assemblage (Fig. 7.). Four of them are cast antlers and two of them are antlers with skull. It is clear from the number of separate brow tine Fl (30 pieces) and from the number of trez tines F3 (20 pieces) that 30 beam base B./antler beam A. as well as 20 beams C. are missing from the find assemblage, that is those parts which the abovementioned tines had been removed from. Except all the separate tines F. (145 pieces) and the so-called antler cortex fragments G (31 pieces ) there are 72 antler parts among the finds which provide a basis to determine the frequency of different antler parts, or their right or left side position and make possible to reconstruct the structure of the "complete" antler (Fig. 9). 40 26 Ai D2 E 33 Di Аз В С 26 72 Fig. 9 Denevér street. 1984-87.
