JÁNOS RÉGÉSZETI FELJEGYZÉSEI 91 Preparing for publication this copy-book written with carefully formed letters and amply illustrated with drawings of localities, objects and layers we make three concessions: - we have grouped data according to topographic viewpoints, that is those data which appear in the copy-book as originated from different archaeological periods and are present within the copy-book at different places and under different dates but refer to the same locality, are grouped together. -Adapting them to publication conditions Adolf János Horváth's authographic illustrations were re-drawn and were reduced in size. Therefore such notes of Adolf János Horváth like "natural scale" could be misleading in case of the majority of drawings. Authentic dimensions of archaeological object therefore could be determined either by measuring or by deducting them from the original text or from the original illustration. - Independently of the original manuscript of the author in the notes we set off topographic data by sublineation and chronological data by italics. Those Palaeolithic finds which were collected by Adolf János Horváth and the identification of which was possible partly on the basis of drawings made by himself had got into the Prehistoric Collection of the Hungarian National Museum between 1938 and 1948 and, after its establishment, had been inventarized in the Palaeolithic Collection. The results of the author in the research of the Palaeolithic of the Danube Bend Area are widely known and whole generations of scholars continues successfully his work. And the data written in this well- thumbed copy-book could give useful information for those scholars as well who used to study other archaeological periods. Viola T. Dobosi - Agnes Vári
