118 TAMÁS BEZECZKY Fig. 2. Distribution of the Greek and Aegian amphorae in Pannónia (The first and second century AD) 2. ábra. Görög és égeikumi amphorák elterjedése Pannoniában (Kr. u. 1—2. sz.) municipium of Carnuntum, in the Arrabona cemetery, near Sárviz and Sirmium. That from the Arrabona cemetery was dated, on the evidence of the objects beside it, to the first century ВС. The Kölesd-Lencsepuszta one, on the evidence of the terra sigillata from the region of Po, was dated as belonging to the Flavian period 1 7. This coincides with the specimens found in Pompeii. The site of production is not limited to the island of Kos . This form was also produced on the neighbouring island on the coast of Anatolia, Egypt. It was also copied in Gallia 1 9. The Dressel 5 type of amphorae 2 (Fig. 1. No. 1) were modelled on the Koan type. These are also quite rare among the amphorae from Pannónia. The Dressel 5 differs from the Koan type in being more slender. This type was found on the site of the Amber Route and in Sirmium. There is little evidence to date these amphorae. 1 7 Kelemen 1990. 122. 1 8 Hesnard 1986, 75-79; Panella 1977. 153,173, Figs. 35-36; ibid 1986, 617. Fig. 13; Ettlinger 1977,10,13.
