Kangifer tarandus (L.) — 4 individuals, 5 remains The quantity of the reindeer remains is very small. Only 5 pieces: 2 sin. corpus mandibulae (P2-4, length 38 mm); dext. P 2/ 3frag; M inf. frag; metapodium frag. Reindeer remains were found on only one side of the settlement during the rescue excavations in 1982 and the blocks A, B, D of the excavations in 1985. Bison priscus ssp. — 2 individuals, 3 remains Similarly to the reindeer, the bison are rare in the settlement: 2 M sup. frags and a rib fragm could be identified. The teeth came from young animals. The bison remains were found during the rescue excavation in 1982 and in the first square of block G in 1985. A. Ringer collected a Meies meles dext. corpus mandibulae fragment during his field surveys from the nearby loess profile, on the border of the brown forest soil and the chernozem. The beaver bone is fossil but does not belong to the palaeolithic settlement.
