The Carpathian radiolarite is dark liver brown, sometimes with a lighter yellowish colouring, displaying the characteristic greenisch marble patterns, it has silky light, it is homogenous, good quality. The erratic flint is grey, silky, compact white — blueish white patinated, often containing macroscopic fossilia remains. Though according to J.K. Kozlowski the Silezian erratic flint may have got in the Danube Basin during the Riss through the great watershed 8 still nearly 90% of the two long-distance raw materials hint at definite northwestern contacts. 7 T.
