F — Female M — Male pedestalled bowl and beside it. In four M graves: 4, 7, 10, 17 the bones are located in front of the human skeleton's knee or leg. In six graves: 3 F, 9 F, 22 F, 1 M, 12 M, 19 M they were found behind the foot of the human skeleton. In grave 4 M they are at the hand, while in grave 23 F they are in front of the forearm of human skeleton. Within three graves the bone remains are located in two areas: in grave 4 Л1 on the right hand in front of the leg; in the grave 19 M behind the foot and in front of the knee; in grave 17 M in front of the knee and behind the human skeleton. In grave 10 M the bone remains are located in three places: in the hollow pedestalled bowl Nr 6, in front of the knee and in front of the legs. In grave 18 F the animal bones were found in the form of "scattered body parts". 4. THE BUTCHERING OF THE SACRIFICIAL ANIMALS AND THE PLACING OF THEIR BODY PARTS INTO THE GRAVES The butchering of animals and the placement of certain of their body parts into the graves together with the human corpse as part of funerary rites was traditional. In the eMCA cemetery at Tiszavalk-Tetes there were 16 cases where different parts of sacrificial animals had been placed in the graves. These animals were comsumed at the sacrificial feast during the course the funeral: 4.1. Cattle — 4 individual, 18 bones — costa fragm. from grave 1 M, long bone fragm. from grave 22 F. In both cases the bone was deposited behind the foot or next to it. — radius sin. dist. epiph. juv. in bowl Nr 3., at left front upper leg from grave 2 F., — mandibula, 8 costae, humerus sin.; 2 metacarpal fragm., pelvis dext., 2 meta­tarsus fragm. in hollow pedestalled bowl Nr 3 from the grave 18 F.
