Lower level: 8. layer, reddish brown clay Canis lupus ssp. — 1/1: epistropheus (Fig. 6.1.) The epistropheus has been rolled and is slightly worn. The processus transversi has been broken off. The epistro­pheus is very small and slim! The absolute dimensions are identical to those of wolves held in captivity or in the zoo. The epistropheus is smaller than that of domestic sheep dogs.
