István Vörös: Zoológiai és palaeoökonómiai vizsgálatok a korai neolitikus Körös kultúra archaeozoologiai anyagán
52 I. VÖRÖS There were only few animal bones found at Bukovapuszta in the Aranka region (Table 2) ; from the domesticated animals only the cattle, from the game animals only the red deer came to light. 7 4 We know only few animal bones of various quality from the Northern Banat region, though in this area the cattle was presumably the most widespread domesticated animal in the settlements of the Körös Culture. The people of Óbesenyő, Bukovapuszta, like those of Sajan-Dombos, hunted closed forest, scrubby forest and steppe animals. III. The Maros region Maroslele-Pana (Table I.), Deszk-Olajkút (Table 2) (Hungary) As the publication of the animal bone material found in these two settlements is less suitable for an archaeozoological evaluation we can notice only the following: at Maroslele-Pana 67,03 per cent of the 2/5 of the whole animal bone material found belongs to domesticated animals, while 32,97 per cent represents wild animals. 7 5 At Deszk-Olajkút 7 6 (one or more settlements?) 80,16 per cent and 19,84 per cent of the bone material belongs to domesticated animals and wild animals, respectively. At Maroslele-Pana the steppe wild ass was absent but the bones of hare were found; otherwise the scrubby forest and closed forest species came to light. IV. The Körös region Szarvas-Szappanos, Szarvas 23 (Hungary) (Table 2) Like the settlements of the previous region the publication of the zoological material of these two sites is less suitable for an archaeozoological evaluation. At the settlement Szarvas 23 7 7 90,91 per cent of the whole animal bone material belongs to domesticated animals and 9,09 per cent to wild animals. 30,97 per cent and 58,83 per cent of the whole animal bone material belong to cattle and small ruminants, respectively. At Szarvas-Szappanos the bones of the sheep were more frequent than those of the cattle. 7 8 V. The Valley of the Tisza (from the S to the X ) Hódmezővásárhely-Bodzáspart, Hódmezővásárhely-Gorzsa-Kovács tanya, Tiszaug-Tópart, Szajol-Felsőföld, Kőtelek-Huszársarok Pit 1. In the separated animal bone material of Hódmezővásárhely-Bodzáspart only cattle and small ruminants represent the domesticated animals and steppe, scrubby forest and closed forest species were found among the wild mammals. 7 9 7 4 Id., Arch.Ért. 27(1907) 272. 7 5 Bökönyi, S., op.cit. 1964. 88. 7 6 Id., op.cit. 1971.
