Patay Pál: A tiszavalki rézfokos

COPPER BATTLE-AXE FROM TISZAVALK 23 battle-axes, especially with that from Tiszavalk. It is not necessary to discuss in detail that the form of the Dad battle-axe is not true to material, which means that the prototype was not made of the same material as our specimen. Although there is a strong likeness between the stone battle-axe of Dad and those of Borodino —- as A. Mozsolics pointed out the fact convincingly — we find every characteristical feature of them separately on copper battle-axes, i.e. on several specimens of these. It means that this form is, after all, derived from copper battle-axes. The date of the stone battle-axes found in hoard ,,L" of Troy corresponds to the time of the Bodrogkeresztűr culture. In the Bodrogkeresztúr culture of the Copper Age the use of show axes made of stone is, however wellknown.
