FOGORVOSI SZEMLE 95. évf. 5. sz. 2002. 187 lembe kell venni, hogy a panaszok olyan anatómiai régió­ra lokalizálódnak, ahová sok (és néha súlyos) betegség tünetei is vetülhetnek. Éppen ezért, ha a diagnózisunk bizonytalan, vagy a beteg állapota a kezelés ellenére nem javul, illetve felvetődik más, nem fogorvosi vonat­kozású betegség jelenléte, konzultálnunk kell a megfelelő specialistával. A leggyakrabban neurológus, fül-orr-gége orvos, reumatológus és pszichológus segítségét kell kérni. Az alapellátásban dolgozó fogorvosnak tudnia kell, amennyiben bizonyos fiatal korban is gyakran jelenező kórképeknél (pl. irreversibilis discus dislocatio), a beteg nem részesül gyors és hatékony kezelésben, maradandó degeneratív és funkcionális elváltozások alakulhatnak ki. Ettől függetlenül, temporomandibuláris panaszok ese­tén soha nem indokolatlan a szakrendelővel történő konzultáció. Irodalom 1.
