Dr, : Removal of mouth cavity benign tumors and\tumor-like lesions by means of carbon-dioxide-laser Experiences gained in the course of operations of 339 benign tumors and tumor-like lesions are summarized. The employment of C02 laser is deemed particularly favourable for the treatment of hemangiomas (90 cases), granuloma fissuratum (62 cases), papilloma (51 cases), fibroma (45 cases), epulis (39 cases), nevus flammeus (17 cases). 10 out of the patients suffered from blood clotting while 46 thereof belonged to the risk group because of other illnesses. The operations were carried out in ambulatory treatment with local anesthesia, the pathological tissues were removed by vaporisation in 110 cases and by means of cutting in 229 cases. In the course of the operations the advantages of the employment of the C02 laser showed up well: the tissue protective technique, the assepticity, the minimum post opertion pains and oedema, good wound healing, insignificant cicatrization, less than 6% recidiva, repeatability of the treatment, minimum deterioration of the mouth cavity functions.
