Megbeszélés A Helkimo-féle diszfunkciós indexek előnye, hogy mind a betegvizsgálat, mind az elváltozások súlyosságának megítélése standardizált eljárással történik. így a vizsgálatok bármikor megismételhetek, ellenőrizhetők és összehasonlíthatók. Az összehasonlíthatóságot segíti elő a tünetek súlyosságának numerikus kifejezése is. A klinikai gyakorlatban gyakran tapasztaljuk, hogy a betegnek saját betegségére, illetve panaszai súlyosságára vonatkozó szubjektív megítélése olykor nagymértékben eltér az orvos által észlelt objektív tünetektől. Ezért mindazok az eljárások, amelyek vagy csak a beteg szubjektv panaszaira (pl. kérdőíves módszer), vagy csak klinikai vizsgálatra épülnek, egyoldalúak és pontatlanok lehetnek. Helkimo indexrendszere mindkettőt figyelembe veszi, sőt a kettő össze is hasonlítható. A módszer egyaránt alkalmas keresztmetszeti és longitudinális vizsgálatok végzésére. Ezen kívül a klinikai gyakorlatban is jól használható, mert segítségével számszerűen is kifejezhetjük a beteg állapotának változását, azaz mérhetjük a gyógyulást, vagy rosszabbodást. IRODALOM: I.
