SUMMARY 149 krein in the saliva has no secretagog effect. Hormonal function of salivary glands may exert an action upon intestinal motility and secretions. Perhaps, histamin splitting away from Kallikrein may be the activ factor of it. By boiling Kallikrein is destroyed; however the product exerts a lowering effect upon blood pressure ; this is compensated by histamin. In guinea pig this product does not cause intestinal contractions. The product is supposed by authors to be related to gastrin. D. Schranz, M. D., asst, prfessor : Inherited dental marks in recognizing persons and corpses. Inherited marks afflict on the one hand soft tissues and bones (as fissure of lips, chin-form, zygomatic arch, palatal rugae, cleft lip and palate, palatine torus), on the other hand teeth (aplasy, retention, supernumerary teeth, formal and color differences of teeth, diastema, occlusal anomalies). These pecularities may have some importance in recognizing persons and corpses. B. Simon, M. D., assoc, prof. : The role of the sympathetic nervous system in conducting pain in stomatology. Author declares that in conduction anesthesia first the soft tissues become insensible, afterwards the periodontium and at last only the pulp. From this he draws following conclusions : i. Pains of the periodontium are not conducted by the trigeminus but by the sympathetic nerve plexus around the mandibular artery. 2. The axons to the pulp are situated at the center and the ones to the soft tissues peripheral. L. Sugár, M. D., assist, professor : Treatment of Periodontal Diseases. The treatment of periodontal disease should based on a correct diagnosis. The etiologic factors may be ; 1. Congenital. 2. Systemic diseases, diseases of the vegetativ nervous system. 3. Local factors or exciting causes. The therapy consists of systemic therapy (general roboration, administration of hormons, vitamins etc) and local procedures. They are ; healing the inflammation of the gum, the eradication of the periodontal pockets, the care of sensitive gingival areas and restoration of balanced occlusion. I. Szenthe, M. D., asst, professor : Popularising orthodontia. Only a small percentage of patients requiring orthodontic treatment receives one. There are too few orthodontists in Hungary. In students of the Budapest University, approximately 85—90% display some slight orthodontic anomalies. B. Szokolóczy-Syllaba, M. D., asst, professor : Removal of fractured needles from the lingula region. Causes of fracturing needles are discussed and methods of their removal. It is recommended to fixate the location of the needle by a stitch to the buccal mucous membrane. Then, removal is facilitated. P. Sztrilich, M. D. ; Indications of dental X rays in regard of qualitative and rational dental work. By X rays dental work is considerably facilitated. While 30 years ago 1 X ray exposure was made in 33 extraction cases, presently each extraction case is roentgenographed. Ch. Tarnay, M. D. : Cortical analgesia in dental and oral operations. Discussion of chlorethyl anesthesia and analgesia with a special method of application. I. Varga, M. D. asst. prof. : Ankylosis mandibulae. A case report. Author reports of a case, where the bony union resulted from an osteomyelitis as a consequence of an operated otitis media. E. Wallner, M. D. : Principles in Constitution. General considerations about the importance, difficulties and controversions of the constitution in medicine. The essential starting point is the indivisible unity of the human being; the direction in constitutional mentality is synthetic; the method is forming groups based on the physics and on the body’s functions. The role of heredity and endocrin correlations in constitution.
