1927 The Budapest journal 'A Láthatár' ('The Horizon') opens a competition for essays on the problematics of youth and freedom, counting Polanyi among the judges (alongside Imre Csécsy, Zoltán Szász and Béla Zsolt). 1933 He loses his job at 'Der Österreichische Volkswirt' and decides to emigrate to England. However, he continues to send his articles to the journal. 1933 June 12th. He delivers his lecture on 'Austria and Germany' in London, organized by the Royal Institute of International Affairs. 1933 June 16th. He lectures at Quaker College, Birmingham. 1934 February 20th. He gives his lectures on 'Fighting in Austria', at the Royal Institute of International Affairs. 1934 In August he gives two lectures on continental politics at Harlach College, Wales. 1934 October 15th. In Hereford he delivers his lecture on fascism. 1935 January and February. He gives a series of lectures on Central-European affairs at Des Moines College, Iowa. 1935 He edits - along with John Lewis and Donald K. Kitchin - the publication 'Christianity and the Social Revolution'. 1936 October - December. He goes on American lecture tour (Denver, Las Vegas, New York, Chicago, etc.).
