Báthory János: Dilemmák a szociológiai állomány gyarapításában

The paper is dealing with the problems of acquisition policy with regard to the function of the contry-wide library for sociology. The question is, the formal characteristics or the content should be considered in the choice of high-priced foreign books. Where are the limits of acquiring all the new books of certain branches of sociology? Who should take control of book purchase: a librarian or a sociologist? Based upon this questions the author stresses on the need of better cooperation among special libraries of the same field in order to improve reader’s supply.
