Once again, God has shown His love for us through His people as we celebrated the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. This joy was shared with us by people from all walks of life. We were entertained by Carolers from the Girl Scouts, High School Choristers, the Trailer Haven Band, the choir of St. Joseph’s Church, and many other groups who love our Home and wanted to sing God’s "Az idő kitűnő orvos.” Disraeli praises to the delight of all of our Home and area residents. We had the added pleasure of hearing Christmas Carols, church hymns and some Hungarian tunes as played to us by Steve and Lolly Kautz. Both of these men are products of our Hungarian Baptist Church in New York City. Their musical talents are exceptional, and everyone listened to their offerings with great joy. What a privilege it is for me to see the look of joy and contentment on the faces of our loved ones. Many of our folks stated that it was the nicest Christmas in their memory. Every resident of our Home was given Christmas remembrances. Many organizations provided not only entertainment but also gifts for our folks. The needy ones in our Home were also well taken care of. Especially were those taken care of who had no one to buy for them. God provided amply for all of our residents for which we give God praise. Many of our friends contributed money to be used for something extra special for our folks. This was done as had been directed. We thank God for all concerned Christian people everywhere. Your love for us is appreciated, and we are grateful to you for thinking of us. Because of you, we were able to make life just a bit more tolerable and acceptable for many of our loved ones. May God bless you all for it. Vesper Services were held on Christmas Eve at our Home. We invited our church and area friends to join us for the occasion. We had a typical old time evening of joyous fellowship with singing of carols, choir numbers, etc., and finally our chaplain, Dr. Biro, highlighted the evening with his Christian message. We could feel the promise of God as the benediction was pronounced. More than 135 people were present for the occasion, and only God knows what the effect was on unsaved friends during the evening. Refreshments were served as a final gesture of love to all present. May God always add His blessings to our efforts. Our Christmas dinner was a thing to behold. Each table was nicely decorated with fresh flowers (given with love to our Home from one of our local florists) placed upon a red tablecloth and food the likes of which can only be prepared and served by our Bethesda food service staff. Because God had blessed us so far beyond our worth, we saw to it that none of our area friends were left to fend for themselves on Christmas Day. We shared our dinner with them, and they became a part of our family for the day. This year we tried something new to show our grateful thanks to church people throughout our country and Canada. God has blessed us with an abundance of oranges. We therefore sent each of our churches a large bag of oranges in grateful thanks for their support and prayers. Where shipping became a real problem, we provided each church with money for the purpose of purchasing local fruit. We just wanted to share God’s blessings with you all. We are only sorry that it was impossible to ship fruit to all who stand by us so faithfully. We do thank God for all of you. During the month we completed the work on the revamping of porches on two of our tourist houses. This work was long overdue, and I am happy to report to you that these changes have greatly enhanced not only the value of our Home, but it also increased the liability and the utility of these homes. We have also refurnished these porches, and we are now ready for our tourists to arrive from the colder areas of our country. Soon all of our tourist accommodations will be filled to capacity. Our church family grows considerably during this period of time. Our loved ones for the most part are as well as can be expected. Because of cooler weather, we have colds, flu, etc. in Florida just as you have it in colder climates. God, however, gives us sufficient warm weather to combat these normal ills. We ask of you all to continue to uphold us in your prayers so that we may continue to serve our aging
