6. oldal EVANGÉLIUMI HÍRNÖK 1975. június 1. Misszió mezőkről... Irodalmunk ügyét ismételten testvé­reink és olvasóink szeretetébe és figyel­mébe ajánljuk. Ez a néhány figyelmez­tető szó — hála az Úrnak — nem vész­kiáltás. Ezek a sorok inkább a vészkiál­tást óhajtják megelőzni. Az irodalmi pénztáros még mindig biztató jelentése­ket küld. De ezek a jelentések nem bá­torítanak gondnélküliségre. Hivő irodal­munk hétről-hétre testvéreink megértő jóindulatából él. Missziónk, szétszórtan élő testvéreink összekötő kapcsa a magyar baptista iro­dalom. Ha ezek a sajtótermékek eltűn­nének, magyar missziónk együttműködése is megszűrnie. Maradnának még szórvá­nyok, de a magyar misszió mint “oldott kéve” élné utolsó napjait. Tartsuk lapun­kat, az evangéliumi tartalmú könyvet misszió ügynek, s amint támogatjuk helyi gyülekezeteinket, akképpen segítsük rend­szeresen hivő irodalmunkat. Gondoljunk arra, hogy az Evangéliumi Hírnök és a Magyar Baptista Irodalmi Kiadó (Német­ország) “külmissziós” eszköz. Ezeket a magyar hivő kiadványokat olvassák Eu­rópa sok országában, Délamerikában és Ausztráliában. A lapok és könyvek eljut­nak hozzájuk s hirdetik: még él a ma­gyar misszió Amerikában és Kanadában és él ott is, ahova a magyar baptista sajtótermékeket olvassák. Gondoljunk az irodalmi missziószervre. • Az alhambrai Amerikai Magyar Baptista Gyülekezet kebelében Ba­­ráth Antal testvérünk ajánlatára és kezdeményezésére könyvtár létesült. Az alapított könyvtár érdekében BESZÉD ÉS GYAKORLAT Egy evangélista idegen gyülekezet­ben volt. A tisztelet utáni bizonyság­tevő percekben felállt egy asszony s elmondta erős hitét. Az evangélista így válaszolt: "Megkapóan beszélt kedves test­vérem. De hogy áll a hite a gyakor­latban? Észrevette a férje az erős hitét s az édesanyja megtért e?” A helyi prédikátor, aki az evan­gélista mellett ült a szószéken, meg­húzta a vendég kabátját és oda­súgta: "Mondd csak, mondd csak, ne hagyd leülni, ő a feleségem.” megbízást kaptam arra, hogy az Evangéliumi Hírnökön keresztül ké­réssel forduljak testvéreinkhez és jó barátainkhoz, hogy ha van jó, angol vagy magyar könyvük, ajándé­kozzák meg velük a kezdődő kis könyvtárt. APRIL AT BETHESDA The adage that "April Showers bring May flowers” does not really apply at Bethesda. Our flowers have been blooming beautifully all through the year. Showers, how­ever, we have not had for a long time, and all of our natural growth has suffered from the lack of rain. Hopefully God will provide the rains which we so critically need in our area. We thank God that our wells have supplied us with ample water for our needs. The month of April closed out our tourist season. Our facilities have been filled to capacity from January first through April. We are so thankful to God for sending us so many wonderful friends who love the fellowship of Christian people. Most of these visitors not only enjoy our facilities, but prove their love for us by performing one service or another for our Home. If it wasn’t cooking or baking, they pro­vided us with other services with which they were familiar. For ex­ample, Mr. Allison Sebestian (Al­bany, N.Y.) rewired all of our build­ings with shielded cable in order to improve television reception. He also repaired and checked every television set on our premises. God has blessed him with the knowhow, and he shares this knowhow with us because he loves our Home. Many other visitors gave of them­selves to improve our facilities. What a blessing it is for us to have friends who love the Lord and help us with their substance and abil­ities. April has been a very busy month at the Home. We have begun the refurbishment of our plant by paint­ing all of our hallways and rooms. The project is about half done, and already it is beginning to look real good. The old Hungarian adage of "látszik hogy van gazdája” can sure be applied to our Home. The Hun­garian Baptist Union and all of its people can be proud of it. Work also has been started on the installation of our new (used) lift station. It is our hope that it will be in full operation in about two weeks. When completed, this pro­ject will have cost us $8,700. But it was something that was sorely needed and will eliminate the prob­­ems and concerns we had with our old unit. We praise God for making this project possible. The installa­tion of our emergency power gener­ator will follow the completion of our lift station. The generator is already purchased and is awaiting its turn in our busy work schedule. Your Home is still filled to capac­ity, and we have a waiting list of people to come in. During the month of April we lost three residents. Mr. Dudics returned to his family in Bridgeport, Conn., Mrs. Koblos returned to her family in New Brunswick, N. J., and Mrs. Osworth returned to her son John’s home in Mount Holly, NJ. Mrs. Osworth had been living at our Home for almost nine years, and her health is rather critical. Please place her on your prayer list. She is a valiant soldier of the Cross, and we shall miss her smiling face at Bethesda. The balance of our resi­dents are in fairly good health. Please pray for each and every one of our loved ones as they are dear and precious people. The summer will be long and lonely without our visitors. If any of you have time and would like to spend a week or two in beautiful Florida, we would more than welcome you. We are but a short distance from the Ken-
