For He knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust. As for man his days are like grass; he flourishes like a flower of the field; for the wind passes over it and it is gone. But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting. Bless the Lord, all his hosts, his ministers that do his will. Bless the Lord, all his works, in all places of his dominion. Bless the Lord, oh my soul.” We feel very close to God when we are ready to compare him to a father. We cannot describe Him more appropriately. When we acknowledge. Him as father, we recognize his power, his right, we admit His protective and providing care. We realize He is for His children. But any working relationship depends on at least two. "Ne aggódjék kedves professzor” nyugtatta meg a rektor, "ön itt volt és igen jól érezte magát.” • Jó két óra hosszat tartott, amíg a jámbor gazda kihúzta öreg lovával a háza előtti sárban elakadt városi autóst. "Mennyit kértél ezért a munkáért?" kérdezte a gazda feelsége. "Egy dollárt.” "Egy dollárt?" elégedetlenkedett a feleség, "legközelebb húzd te ki az autót, és hagyd a lóra a bérmegállapítást.” father is loving, we are loving and obeying children. God will not change by our actions or behavior. He remains the same. But if we do not take advantage of being His children, we shall suffer the consequences. We shall be like the prodigal son. The father did not punish his ungrateful son. The son’s deed wrought all the inflictions upon him. The father pities his children, and the children have no compassion for themselves. God knows not only our shortcomings, bus also our weaknesses. He remembers that we are dust. He remembers that our earthly life is short and our body is fragile. For this reason He handles us like a father: lovingly and tenderly. The passing years, the mounting troubles and difficulties, the decreasing health and strength will force us back to God — back to the Father. There is no better remedy, more definite assurance for our own existence, for feeling of security, for life’s fulfillment than to place ourselves into our heavenly father’s hand. We are carried by the winds and streams of life. There is no positive, solid point, where we can stop, there is no lasting value, which we can hold and treasure. In this ever moving, never stopping insecurity we happily have found one lasting value, one firm foothold, and that is God’s steadfast love. This is everlasting. The world will pass away, but God’s love remains forever. After the magnificent exposition of God’s nature, David calls upon all created beings to bless the Lord. The heavenly host, the ministers of his will — the angels and man: all spiritual beings should praise and bless the Lord. We are in our right place, in the line of heavenly beings when we step into the' chorus of those who sing the praises of God. But above all—David tells himself again—bless the Lord, oh my soul! While millions on the earth and above the earth bless the Lord—let us not miss this company of Godfearing men and angels. Let us praise Him. B. U.
