Dream Dialogue with the Cross

Lo, I wish to tell you of the best of dreams. At night when man puts technology to rest, (I should not say complete slumber, for some mechanical murmurings pierce the still of night), it seemed to me that in a dream I saw a most marvelous cross suspended in the air and surrounded by a brilliant light. But like a schizophrenic man the cross assumed two appearances. For an instant it was bedecked with gold and jewels unsurpassable; but then it seemed to change its garments, and behold, a bleeding cross made the mind's eye focus on the warm gore flowing from the gorge-like, right-side wound. This sight seared my sleeping mind or perhaps not physically sleeping but only spiritually dormant was the mind of which I speak. The minds eye flooded with the dual picture created a bilabial response: “Cross, why does thy raiment change so often?“ A voice with human qualities came resounding from that tree yet with such soft and lilting tones that I did never stir from my slumber I was fearful in the presence of that beautiful vision while it spoke these words: “Long ago—-and I still remember it— I spent my sapling life at the edge of a wood and gradually grew huge and strong. In the spring of my life I was hewed down by many enemies, bereft of branches, and constructed in this fashion. Three men carried me on their bleeding shoulders until they had set me up on a hill, the Place of Skulls. There many enemies made me fast and commanded me to raise up the three criminals.

Then I saw the Lord of mankind approach me, and I felt his tender embrace. When he embraced me and was about to redeem mankind, I

trembled. They pierced Him and me with dark nails, and on me the wounds are still visible. I raised up the powerful Lord of heaven and stood fast not bowing to the earth. The enemies of the Lord scoffed Him and me; I became drenched with blood from the side of that Man. After He relinquished His Spirit, darkness covered the sinister hill; and all creation lamented the King's death. Removing the nails did not create any agonizing pain in the lifeless Son; only in the eyes of his friends could I feel the scorching pain.

“The sepulchre held sway over the Kings for but three days; He arose in victory as Lord of Lords. I have witnessed the death of a most beloved Man caused by wicked enemies. On me the Son of God suffered and for that reason I, a Christ symbol, can save every single person who loves the Lord and repents of his sins. I have opened up a new way of life for all human beings if they would only bear a Christ-like cross. Your cross is awaiting you!"

Truly the message of this human cross made me, the dreamer, quake within my slumber. The heaven-sent light streamed through the pane, and yet I felt this fear. A resounding voice responded, “Fear not, fear not I gave you my Son.“

Szeretettel hívjuk meg a Központi gyülekezeteinkben lévő Nőegyesületek összes tagjait a Cleveland Shaker téri gyülekezetben folyó év ápri is 29-én megtartandó konferenciára. Nővéreim, vegyünk és szenteljünk időt Isten dicsőségére és lelkünk építésére. Erre a kedves találkozóra szeretettől várnak a clevelandi testvéreink. A központi diakónusok a lelkipásztorok bevonásával ugyancsak április 29-én d.u. 1:30 kezdéssel tartja meg tavaszi gyűlését a Shaker téri gyülekezet felső imatermében. Galambos Pál, buffalói lelkipásztor lesz az elő. adó. Ez alkalom is hasznos és áldásos lesz a résztvevők részére. Diakónusok, lelkipásztorok, ne mulassza el senki a megjelenést!

A KÖZPONTI IFJÚSÁG TAVASZI “RALLY“-ja!

A női és diakónus konferenciát a központi ifjúságunk gazdag műsora s programja rekeszti be április 29-én szombaton este 7 órai kezdéssel. Ez ifjúsági est gazdagnak és épületesnek Ígérkezik most is mint minden egyes alkalommal. Kérjük ifjú testvéreinket, készüljenek és legyenek jelen! Ebben a nehéz és zavaros világban az elcsüggesztő szomorú hírek között hadd halljunk biztató, megerősítő lelki híreket is, melyre ifjaknak és öregeknek egyaránt nagy szüksége van! Az ünnepi szónok Rév Galambos Pál lelkipásztor, a buffalói gyülekezet uj prédikátora!
