A templom főbb méretei: magassága a kriptától a keresztig 100 m; hossza 118 m; szélessége 49 m; a kupola belső magassága 71,5 m; átmérője 33,5 m. Az altemplom falai 17 méter vastagságúak, a vasbordás rézfedeles kupolát 6 méter vastag falak tartják. Az orgona 73 regiszteres, 4600 síppal. A Bazilika oltárképe a világ legnagyobb egyetlen vászonra festett képe. A 13x6,5 méter befoglaló méretű festményt Angelo Grigoletti festette, és Mária mennybemenetelét ábrázolja, amely Tiziano Velencében található Assunta alkotásának felnagyított másolata. It is an enlarged replica of Titian's Assumption which is in the Frari Basilica in Venice.
