173. The owners of the lands among the vineyards beside Barátkút erected a wooden cross in 1786. The costs were covered by themselves. It was renova­ted in 1883. But today it is missing. 174. In the old cemetery of Szentgyörgymező, in 1788, a high stone cross was erected from the generous donations of the people. Primate Card. Szcitovszky gifted an acre of land in 1883 so that the town could have a new cemetery. This new cemetery was trenched and surrounded by bushes. The cross was brought here from the old cemetery in 1884, and ir was renewed. The inscription cannot be read today. 175. The stone cross of the City Cemetery with a metal corpus. This is the central cross of Esztergom. The former crosss was replaced with a huge one. The original cross was taken into this place from Diósvölgy in 1788. It had been a roadside cross there. 176. A wooden cross was erected by Ferenc Molnár in 1795 at the begin­ning of Bánoni Road. This cross was destroyed, the new cross was placed in the corner of Mihály Dobozy Street and Iskola Street. Since this second cross was also destroyed, a third one was made by Vince Németh to the place of the second one in 1989. 177. A stone cross, on Arany Hill. The corpus and the cross was carved from the same piece of stone. It was erected in 1788 according to the inscription. The inscription on the other hand only gives monogramms thus we may hardly know the founders. The supposition that the cross was erected by Sebastian Pethő is based on vernacular notes. He was a city judge in the 18th century. 178. There is a wooden cross in the corner of Dobogókői Road and Gala­gonyás Road. Originally it was a stone cross, but it was replaced with a wooden one with a metal corpus in 1994, when the fundament was reno­vated. The original was erected by the baker Imre Balogh in 1800. He also established a found of 6 Fts. It was at the beginning of the hemp fields. In 1933 Gyula Tóth and his wife had it renovated. The couple had had no child for long, so they took an oath that if God gives the a baby they have the cross renovated. Sooner they had twin girls. Later the soviet barracks were in the near-by and there was a considerable traffic here. Once a truck crashed the cross and it was fallen.
