: (The changing of the geographical names in Tiszaszőlős) The study, using up the total (both present and historic) vocabulary of the geographical names in a village called Tiszaszőlős, examines the variants and the changes of the names motivated by the social acitivty and remaking of nature. The author compared the names of his native land with the manuscripts, historical maps and archivalia after the experiences and researches of his own. The ample sources made it possible to analyse a great number of geographical names. We can watch the co-existence and the struggle of the variants with the final triump of one of them.
