On the basis of light intensity emitted through the bores, the effect of cones of different lenght on the place of optimal excitation was studied. The increase in emitted light intensity was found as a result of an increase in the surface of the cones. In this paper cones of different material (Fe, Cu, Al) and different lenght (0-10 mm and 0-25 mm, respectively) are placed in cylinders of different material (lenght is 10 or 25 mm), and for analytical purposes the emitted light intensity - paralel to the hollow - is examined in the case of cones of different height and with the pairs of cones and cylinders of different material. It is stated that the increase in the line intensities emitted by the cone is not caused by the increase of the surface, but by the fact that the tip of the cone is placed in the optimal excitation place. At short cylinders the optimal excitation place changes with the ratio of the inside diameter of the hollow to the lenght. When carrying out multi-element analysis, a 3:1 ratio of lenght to diameter is advategeous, since in this case the optimal excitation place for different elements (Fe, Cu, Al) is at the same height of the cylinder.
