This responsibility is included in the wider strategy of creating the so-called electronic business and electronic management in general, which requires not only the program and hardware base, but primarily a fully implemented legal, expert and personnel support system. The role of the archive in the concept of electronic business is of essential importance. It is necessary to pass a new Regulation on record management, which would incorporate the issues of digital document exchange, legal regulations and a classification system, which would include appraisal. The archival service taking a new direction is not possible without meeting several basic conditions: the passing of legal regulations, setting an effective and modern education system and providing space. Still, the basic assumption is that the archival service is seen by society as being a part of cultural activity and a necessary pre-condition for establishing a modern administration in the electronic environment.
