Gergely Bakos OSB A Point of Interest in the Relationship between the Cardinal of Kues and a Benedictine Community in Bavaria From the Correspondence of Abbot Caspar Aindorffer and Nicholas of Cusa Nicholas of Cusa (1401–1464) developed a particularly warm relationship with the Benedictine community of Saint Quirinus Abbey, in Bavaria. The exploration of their correspondence can shed light both on Nicholas’s speculative theology and his efforts for reforming the Church, notably on the so-called Melk Reform joined also by the Saint Quirinus community. Their abbot Caspar Aindorffer wrote Nicholas a letter in 1455 for an indulgence document that had got lost. Here the translation of the letter is presented with a short introduction and some explanatory notes as a preliminary step for making this correspondence accessible in Hungarian.
