CALVIN SYNOD HERALD 5 "Well, except for the honor, I would rather not have done it." Bishop Emeritus Louis Medgyesi compared being Bishop to "herding cats." I agree with Bishop Medgyesi. This is a very serious and very difficult assignment which Rt. Rev. Krasznai has accepted. One which, in fact, lacks appreciation by and positive recognition from the very people who have called him to serve. And Rt. Rev. Krasznai is already aware of this. But he has still decided to answer the Call. He experienced the Isaiah moment when he heard God's Call: "Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?" Then he said, "Here am I! Send me." What is my advice to Bishop Krasznai today? "Let love be genuine; hold fast to what is good; love with brotherly affection; outdo others in showing honor." And in everything you do, always keep in the forefront the first verse of the 103rd Psalm: “Praise the LORD, O my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. ” It is the Lord whom you will be serving. This is the same advice I offer all of you today. Take seriously the words of the Lord Jesus Christ! Rt. Rev. Koloman Karl Ludwig Bishop Emeritus, Calvin Synod Conference, United Church of Christ Rt.
