4 CALVIN SYNOD HERALD wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace; Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as we would have it; Trusting that He will make all things right if we surrender to His Will; So that we may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him Forever and ever in the next. I am humbled and honored to serve as Synod Presbyter for the past three years. Thank you for giving me this opportunity. There were some difficult times, both personally and in the congregations I visited. But there were also joyful times of celebration. In all we do, we can never lose site that we all serve faithfully our Lord, Jesus Christ. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6) If we listen, He will show us the way. Together, we can follow the right path. Our congregations are depending on it. So, let’s have a meaningful and productive meeting. Let’s make decisions that will impact our congregations positively. Let’s make decisions that help not hurt. Together, we can make a difference. The meeting continued with the report of Rt. Rev. Koloman K. Ludwig, Bishop, followed by the report of Rev. Viktor Toth, Synod Treasurer.
