12 Calvin Synod Homeland and Overseas Mission CALVIN SYNOD HERALD Jesus says: "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you” (Luke 6:38 NIV). In this Bible verse Jesus teaches us specifically how to live a life of stewardship. Stewardship means managing the resources wisely that God has given you and me. According to Christ’s teaching, being good stewards of God needs to be our lifestyle. Three different times, in Luke chapter 6, Jesus said that if we don’t make this lifestyle of giving, sharing, and loving there is nothing that separates us from the sinners and the world (v. 32- 34). Let us follow our Savior Jesus Christ who modeled this lifestyle for us. We will reap many benefits and blessings by living a life of stewardship. May God bless us in our Christian calling of being good stewards. I would like to say thank you for Rev. I just wanted to give you an update on our missionary efforts in Karpathia. A few months ago, we got a request from Dr. Akos Kiss from Miskolc and Rev. Szilagyi for surgical sutures for pediatric cleft palate repair. We put the word out and we were able to collect about $1000 for pediatric sutures which I procured from my medical supplier. This week were were able to send 14 boxes of much needed suture for cleft palate repair. It was mailed on the 23rd of March and should arrive within in 10 days in Miskolc at Dr. Akos's office. He will then journey to Karpathia and do his mission work and perform the surgeries with a local orthopedic surgeon during the week of the 10 th of April. 1 wanted to thank everyone who has supported this cause, including my coworkers at Charles River Northwest, the First Hungarian Reformed Church of Pittsburg, PA and everyone else in the Calvin Synod and elsewhere, who has helped in any way. By the way I'm moving back closer to the East coast - I got a great job with Eli Lilly in Indianapolis and will be closer to my family, within driving distance. Again, on behalf of the Medical Mission, I would like to say THANK YOU!! for the support, prayers and donations. May God bless you all for your kindness and generosity! Aldas, bekesseg!
