The meeting was closed with a Divine Worship Service with The Lord’s Supper. Rev. Chuck Huckaby’s sermon on Sunday was “To Elders About Return to Service.” The Text was Deuteronomy 1:15-18/2 and Timothy 2:24-26. I would like to thank the Pastors and Presbyters’ of our Hungarian Reformed Churches and our visitors from Hungary for their participation in this years meeting. I would like to thank Rev. Imre A. Bertalan, Executive Director of Bethlen Communities and His staff for all of their help at the meetings. I look forward to next year. As we continue to open the lines of Communications between the Clergy and the Presbyters’. The American Hungarian Reformed Presbyters’ Association 2009 Recommendations Committee Report of August 24, 2009 1. It is recommended, that the American Hungarian Reformed Presbyters ’Association continue to support the goal of establishing and sustaining a Reformed Church and Hungarian Cultural Conference Center on the grounds of the Bethlen Communities, in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. Passed 2. It is recommended, that the Presbyters encourage their respective congregations to support the above effort. Passed 3. It is recommended, that the Presbyters’ Association make a donation of $100.00 to the Youth Camp. Passed 4. It is recommended, that each Congregation support sending their youth to camp and financially support those youth. Passed 5. It is recommended, that every church do whatever they can to support the Bethlen Communities. Passed 6. It is recommended, that the Minister, with the Chief Elder or another Elder, personally visits their church’s members annually and utilize the youth of the congregation in these efforts whenever and wherever possible. Passed 7. It is recommended, that all churches actively promote Youth Fellowship. Passed 8. It is recommended, that all churches actively promote mission and outreach projects. Passed 9. It is recommended, that a copy of these recommendations be sent to all churches to be read to the congregations. Further, we request these recommendations be published in the Calvin Synod Herald and Magyar Egyház along with the Presbyter’s meeting report. Passed 10. It is recommended, that Officers of the Presbyters’ and Officers of the Ministers meet to find time for a joint session of both Associations at next years conference. Passed 11. It is recommended, the Vice- Presidents of each class, collect a list of all church elders addresses and emails from each Congregation and forward them to the Secretary of the Presbyter’s to collate and distribute. Passed 12. It is recommended the District Vice-Presidents should have a meeting, in their districts during the year. In this way more Lay Persons can be more involved with the Association. Any concerns then can be brought before this meeting. Passed 13. It is recommended to give an Honorarium of $100 to our guest speaker Rev. Chuck Huckaby. Passed BY-LAW CHANGE: Point #6. The Annual Conference The highest authority of the Presbyters’ Association is the Annual Conference, to be held yearly on Labor Day Weekend at Ligonier, Pennsylvania, in the Bethlen Home. Roby Jr. President of AHRPA The American Hungarian Ministerial Association Meeting The American Hungarian Ministerial Association Meeting took place in Ligonier, PA on August 24th and 25th. There was great participation with 31 Pastors and more than 10 Elders in attendance. The Pastors came from all over the USA, Canada and Hungary. The lectures were uplifting and all of the participants received a framed Calvin painting, a gift from Rt. Rev. József Vásárhelyi. Rt. Rev. József Vásárhelyi President of the AHM Association
