12 CALVIN SYNOD HERALD CARF Announces Bethlen Communities Accreditation CARF International announced that Bethlen Communities has been accredited for a period of three years for Assisted Living and Person-Centered Long-Term Care. This accreditation decision does two things: 1. It represents the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an organization, and 2. It shows Bethlen Communities’ substantial conformance to CARF standards. An organization receiving a Three-Year Accreditation has put itself through a rigorous peer review process and has demonstrated to a team of surveyors that its services are of the highest quality. Bethlen Communities is a nonprofit continuing care retirement community in Ligonier, Pennsylvania. It has been providing care services since 1921. Founded in 1966 as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, or CARF, this accrediting body establishes consumer-focused standards to help measure and improve the quality of an organization’s services.
