PA Frances “Franki” Matthews, 59, passed away at Shadyside Hospital on October 30, 2007, after a long battle with cancer. Loving sister of Joyce Matthews. Daughter of the late John and Helen (Vargo) Matthews. Loving wife of Gyula (Apu) Szilagyi and mother of Julius Szilagyi. Franki is also survived by countless friends. She was a lifelong member and former Chief Elder of the First Hungarian Reformed Church of Pittsburgh. Funeral services were held at her church. FIRST HUNGARIAN REFORMED CHURCH OF HOMESTEAD - MIJNHALL. PA Former Chief Elder of the Homestead Congregation Dies. Mr. William F. Horosz, Sr. passed away on November 20, 2007, at the age of 87 after a brief illness. In addition to being Chief Elder, Bill was Assistant Chief Elder, Elder, Trustee and was very active in the life of the Church. Bill is survived by his wife, Ethel Bolchazszy; son William F. Horosz, Jr.; sister Mrs. Helen (Horosz) Fustos; three grandchildren, B.J., Victoria and Peter; and several nieces and nephews. Bill attended the Central Classis and Annual Calvin Synod Meetings for many years. The burial was private, and the memorial service was conducted by Rev. Alexander Jalso on Saturday, November 24th at the First Hungarian Reformed Church of Homestead. JOHN CALVIN MAGYAR REFORMED CHURCH - PERTH AMBOY. NJ A happy birth day, by the Providence of God, who brought a son to the Toth family in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Rev. Csilla Toth presented her husband, Peter with a new boy, Oliver, on November 27, 2007, at the Raritan Bay Hospital. It is just several blocks up the street from the John Calvin Magyar Reformed Church where she is the Assistant Pastor. The Rev. Anikó Kocsis and Mr. Toth were both present at the birth.
