Kelemen’s Installation Service On Saturday, March 6, 2004, at 1:00 p.m., Reverend Zoltán S. Kelemen was installed as the minister of the West Side Hungarian Reformed Church. Reverend Kelemen first preached at West Side Hungarian Reformed Church on July 21, 2002, during a combined worship service in which we called him to be a candidate for the vacant pulpit of our church. After that service, the members of the congregation unanimously elected him as our next pastor. He began his service with us on September 22, 2002. On October 27, 2002, we held a welcoming luncheon in Reverend Kelemen’s honor and it gave us all a good chance to meet him. The Installation Service was well attended by church members and by friends and guests from nearby churches Rev. Kelemen and Guest Ministers in the area. Six guest ministers participated and officiated in the service: Rt. Reverend Lajos Medgyesi, Bishop from Fairport Harbor, Reverend Gábor Nitsch, Dean of the Lakeside Classis from Dayton, Reverend Attila Veres-Kovács from Lorain, Reverend Csaba Krasznai from Walton Hills, Reverend Zsolt Ötvös from Columbus, and Reverend Zsigmond Molnár from Akron. During the service, church member Judit Osváth sang a beautiful song for the occasion. After an uplifting message by Bishop Medgyesi to all of us in the form of a “Charge to the Pastor and to the Congregation,” the installation took place and Reverend Kelemen was blessed by the laying on of hands by his fellow ministers. Several greetings were given, including one from our Chief-Elder, Lajos Visnyovszky, followed by Julianna Robles, Chief-Elder from Lorain, and Richard Sarosi, Chief-Elder from Walton Hills. Also greeting Reverend Kelemen were Dave Karmosay, Chief- Elder from Dayton, and Endre Csornán and Wilburn Roby, who were representing the William Penn Association and the Calvin Synod respectively. Following the installation service, everyone was invited to attend a free-will donation reception and dinner in our Calvin Center. The delicious meal included chicken soup, salad, baked chicken, breaded pork, potatoes, vegetables, coffee, pastries and cake, and was prepared by our church’s Lydia Ladies’ Guild. We pray for God’s continued blessings on Reverend Kelemen and his wife, Gabriella, in his continued service as the minister of our West Side Hungarian Reformed Church along with each and every member. May we work together to carry on His will for our lives and our church! Judith Szentkirályi West Side Hungarian Reformed Church Cleveland, Ohio
