WE ARE THE OLDEST PUBLICATION of our kind in the world. We started in 1900 in Cleveland, Ohio, the Jerusalem of the Hungarian Reformed people in America. After the great changes ir world history in 1989, our publication went global. In addition to serving our congregations here at home, we could finally enter into our sister churches in Hungary and its succession states. It was God's command to us after the long and painful separation from the churches of the same “Household of Faith”. We are enthusiastically received in the entire Carpathian Basin. We are proud of the fact that during the course of the seven bygone years, we have appeared on time bi-monthly with every single issue. Our paper is the heartbeat of our Synod and the foremost missionary outreach of our God-ordained historical mission. We wish to express our heartfelt thanks to our subscribing congregations. Cleveland West leads on top with 300 copies (Good job!) Other churches making the honor roll include Columbus, OH with 83; Cleveland East with 50; Bridgeport, CT with 43; Davison, Ml with 42; Lorain, OH with 40; Dayton, OH with 35; Fairfield, CT with 33; S. Norwalk, CT with 25; Springdale, PA with 24; Perth Amboy-Rossville, NJ with 18; Wallingford, CT with 18; Fairport Harbor, OH with 18; Indiana Harbor - East Chicago, IN with 15; Gary, IN with 12; Whiting, IN with 12. With 10 copies each are Los Angeles, CA; Bethlehem, PA; Washington, DC; Buffalo, NY; Kalamazoo, Ml. With 5 copies each are New York, NY; Woodbridge, NJ; Ligonier, PA; Vintondale, PA; Pittsburgh, PA; Homestead, PA. With 3 copies each are Norridge, IL; Manville, NJ. In the Synod there are 29 congregations. 4 congregations do not have any subscriptions. Our non-synodical subscribing congregations are Akron, OH; Free Church 25; Toledo, OH has 20; Brownsville, PA has 3; One congregation in Canada - Winnipeg, has 17. Individuals who have made spectacular gifts are Lili Volosin (Cleveland); Ida Kelemen (Cleveland); Rose Balogh (Georgia), and some who wish to remain anonymous. Our grateful thanks to them all. At this year's Synodical meeting, due to the increased mailing and printing costs, it was decided that the group subscription rates had to be raised from the very low $5 annual rate to $8, with the provision that in cases of subscriptions for all members or at least for subscribers of 50 or more copies, the rate will be just $6 per year. The individual subscription rate will remain at $10 per year. Please realize that even with the slight increase in the annual subscription rate, our bimonthly publication is still less than $1.35 an issue! The Calvin Synod Herald is and remains a great value, both for its content and its very affordable price! We thank you for your continuing support!
