Synod is approaching all our congregations to make the second mile by offering remembrances and special prayers at the actual time, when representatives of magyar Reformed churches from all over the world will be gathered together at parts of Transylvania and Hungary for sessions of the III. World Convention in this historical year of millecentenarium in creating a Nation 1100 years ago in the Carpathian Basin. Special collections are being planned for the purpose of helping the congregations of our Household of Faith struggling against oppresions in the Succession States arount the Motherland. Now is the time to demonstrate our heart-felt feeling to our still suffering sister-churches tom away by force from the Mother-Church. Not one single congregation, no matter how small, should stay away from this mighty chain-celebrative demonstration of all Hungarian Reformed churches of the Globe, which presents itself once in a lifetime. This year Labor-Day comes on Monday, Sept. 2. The Presbyters’s Association will meet on Sunday, Sept. 1. - On Monday, Labor-Day, they will have a combined Worship Service in the morning together with the Ministerial Association, concluding the Service with Holy Communion in the Bethlen Chappel on the hill. The Ministerial Association meeting will continue into the next day. Then follow, as usual, the meeting of Board of Directors of AMRE and Board of Managers of Bethlen Home, and others. - These early Fall-meetings brought us together, members of the Eighth- Tribe of Magyars, split into eight fractions, in the course of a half-a-Century for working together. Let these meetings remain the heart-beats of our working together. Let them sustain the life-blood of our cooperation till we will be all one, being the offsprings of the same Mother-Church overseas. The emphasis in this historical 1100th Anniversary year is more compulsive and more demanding than any other time of American Reformed life on this side of the Ocean. nan OUR BISHOP’S 50* ORDINATION ANNIVERSARY Our Synod's beloved bishop,, the Rt. Rev. Dr. Francis Vitéz, was ordained into the holy ministry on September 17th, 1946. Heart-warming celebration is being planned on October 20, Sunday (4 p.m. Service and 6 p.m. Banquet) by his loyal congregation in Perth Amboy, N.J. Calvin Synod and all its congregations unanimously share in the joy of the Golden Anniversay in the service of the Lord, what he preformed in five decades of examplary dedication in our Synod and outside of our Synod, even in the global mission to our Magyar churches all over the world. May God give him all the needed energy physically, mentally and spiritually for great number of years to come. Servant of God! Well done! And may many more yet to be well-done. □□□ AMERIKAI MAGYAR REFORMÁTUSOK LAPJA 100TM ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION OF THE HRFA Opening ceremonies marking the 100th Anniversary of the founding of The Hungarian Reformed Federation of America will be held on Sunday, September 15,1996 at 3:00 p.m. at the Hungarian Reformed Church, 180 Home Avenue, Trenton, New Jersey, followed by a banquet at the Beky Hall in the school building at 6:00 p.m. 35th QUADRENNIAL CONVENTION Reformed Federation of America will hold its 35th Quadrennial Convention at the Hyatt Regency New Brunswick Hotel, 2 Albany Street, New Brunswick, New Jersey on Monday, September 16 through 19, 1996. □□□ SEPTEMBER 29 IS THE DATE FOR THE OHIO DISTRICT'S PRESBYTERS AND CHURCH-WORKERS CONFERENCE.
