CALVIN SYNOD HERfILD- 2 -REFOMATUSOK LAP)A The Summer Youth Camp for the young people of all Synodical churches (together with the churches of the Magyar Reformed Church in America) was held at the same location as every year on the days of August from the 8th to the 14th. Rev. William Nyerges was the new Camp Director from our Synod, together with Ms. Priscilla Hunyady from the other Church. The camp's location was the Mennonite Chuch Cen­ter in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania (near Ligo­­nier.) The theme was "Religion vs. Pseudo- Religion" (Matthew 24:5). Vacant Congregation South Norwalk, in the state of Con­necticut. Due to Rev. Joseph Vásár­helyit going to 82nd Street church in New York City, position is vacant. It is a united meeting of all Hungarian Church Workers and ministers of the differ­ent fractions of our life. The leaders of the former group were: Mr. Paul J. Szaniszlo, President Mrs. Janet Vegh, V.P., Central District Mr. John Nagy, V.P., Eastern District Mr. Robert Boné, V.P., Western District Ms. Helen K. Dodge, Secretary Mr. Andrew C. Lovász, Treasurer Mr. Anthony Beke, Trustee Miss Priscilla Hunyady, Trustee At the Ministerial Association Meet­ing, Rev. Alexander Forró will preside. On September 6, Monday, there will be a joint worship service at 11:00 a.m. The Holy Communion will be administered. A memo­rial prayer will be said for the Rev. Géza Soós, on the fortieth anniversary of his tragic death at the same location in the Ligonier chapel. After the service, a wreath will be placed on his Ligonier grave. A detailed program is published in the Hungarian sec­tion of this issue. The election of new offic­ers and their installation is on this year's agenda. September 19,1993, the New Bishop's Solemnization oflnstallationmW be held in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. The Calvin Synod, Conference of the United Church of Christ, elected The Rt. Rev. Dr. Francis Vitézas its new Bishop on May 14,1993, at its 55th Annual Meeting. At the close of that meeting, he and the new officers of the Synod were sworn in. In accordance with the practice of The Hungarian Reformed Church, Service of Solemnization of Installation is set for September 19 at 4 p.m. in Perth Amboy at his church. He will be our 7th Bishop, and the 15 Chief Executive of our Synod in the course of the past 55 years. The Conference for Presbyters and Church Workers for our Hungarian Re­formed churches in the Ohio District area will be held at First Church in Cleveland on Sunday, September 26th at the new Walton Hills location. The conference is slated to start at 2:00 p.m. Guest speaker is Reverend Lajos Medgyesi, Auxiliary Bishop of Cal­vin Synod, and pastor in Fairport Harbor, Ohio. We will also have a musical group, Rescue, to entertain us. The young people had the group at the May Youth Conference. There will be plenty of good food for the noon meal. The cost of the meal is $6.00. Please make your reservations as soon as possible by calling the church at (216) 786- 7272. The Rev. Dr. Aladár Komyáthy was elected to be the new pastor of our church in Pittsburgh, PA. He formerly served our Pas­saic, N.J. church and the Hungarian Re­formed Church in Montreal, Canada. His return to the service in our Synod is greatly welcomed. May God give his blessing unto him and his people in the Pittsburgh congre­gation. His formal installation by Synod will take place in the Pittsburgh church on Refor­mation Sunday, October 31, 1993 at 4:00 p.m. The installation will be performed by the Right Reverend Dr. Francis Vitéz, bishop.
