A good and noble heart stopped after a long and valiant fight against the inevitable. The void he left can never be filled. His absence is an ever-aching wound. But, like the title of one of his books, he has been, and always will be a "Light Against Darkness." The legacy he left enriches not only his family, but generations of ministers he taught in his nearly fifty years of professorship spanning two continents. We mourn and weep, yet turn our tearfilled eyes upon the One in Whom Death was defeated, joyful in the knowledge that "those who live in Christ never see each other for the last time." Glory to Him! (27 Timothy 4:7) We, the magyar Calvinists of America, are the living wimesses for the truth ofthat quotation being materialized in his life and work. A great Calvinistic Theologian of the Bartian School left our midst. His magnificent book, "Limping Along with God" (title borrowed from Calvin himself), gives a most dramatic description of not only his own life but the entire magyar tragedy of our Age. For his memory nothing could be more appropriate than placing Calvin 's portrait here below:
