Fifth Street, San Pedro, CA 90731. wealth and poverty? We have been called to be agents of liberation in this world! “Finally”, says Jesus, “The Holy Spirit has anointed me to proclaim recovery of sight to the blind.” The third and final job for those of us who have been anointed to be Christ’s ministers in this world then is the ministry of healing, or reconciliation. It is again a ministry, to which we have been called. We are called to be agents in this world. This does not mean that we have been called to be doctors and nurses, though it means that we can participate in the healing of physical desease through our support of medical research and established ministries of healing; and it also means that we can be vehicles through which the power of divine healing gets unleashd in this world through our openness to it and our prayers for it. But the healing of physical ailments is only a small part of the ministry of healing, anyway. There are many forms of brokenness in this world which need healing and reconciliation. There are the relationships which are broken between parents and child, between husband and wife, between neighbor and neighbor. There is the healing of our own devided selves... of the conflicts we face of the anxieties to which we are subject, of the devided loyalties we experience. Do we seek to heal these divisions, or do we contribute to their continued existence. We are called to be agents of healing in this world. Proclaimers of Good News, Agents of Liberation, Ministers of healing, that’s what we have been called for. And that’s what every community of faith — every church is all about. This is our challenge, this is our ministry. Let us all take seriously our calling, and let us ask God’s Divine Power for the fulfillment of this work among us as the children of God. Stefan M. Török An All-Important Letter of our History (Continued from Page 6) Though I whole-heartedly desire some-kind of a re-attachment to the Mother-Church, but at the same time I also do believe very strongly that our united churches should also maintain attachment to the American National Church-bodies. I am sure that is possible now. With the Presbyterians maybe not as yet, but with the Reformed group by all means. Time will bring solution even to the entelgement of the presbyterians. They are most certainly harder boys to deal with! Of course we have to admit fairly that for them the union of all factions will mean giving up certain advanteges and our good presbyterian brothers do not show any inclination to do that. I think I made myself very clear. I wish you God’s speed on your journey and great success. It is indeed a tremendous undertaking, but if it is God’s will His providential help will not be missing. It is impossible not to believe that your grand assignment is a link in the chain of God’s Predestination. May God be with you, lead you on your journey there and bring you back safe and sound with glorious results. We congratulate the Calvin Synod Herald — Reformátusok Lapja as it celebrates 90 years of continuous service to its church and to Hungarian Reformed people in the United States, Hungary and throughout the world. May it continue to serve its mission well for many years to come. And to the thousands of devoted readers of the Reformátusok Lapja, we extend our sincere wishes for a joyous Easter holiday.
