Calvin Synod voted on its last year’s Annual Meeting to make a proper Celebration together with the other leaders of all American Hungarian Reformed factions. Bishop was authorized to get in touch with the Bishop of the Hungarian Reformed Church in America and other denominational leaders to make it a National Event. Let us now make an unprecedented grand Move to produce a never to be forgettable Historic Celebration in these exciting times of our present History!!! Hungary leads The Way “For the first time, the Iron Curtain has begun to part, and Hungary, your great country, is leading the way. ” President Bush Hungary has removed the barbed wire and other obstacles from its border with Austria. And East Germans are pouring out of their strict communist nation, which has rejected the political and economic reform popular elsewhere in the Soviet bloc. Tens of thousands of politically and economically disgruntled East Germans have gone to West Germany last year, the largest flow to West since the Berlin Wall was built in August 1961 to stem a similar tide. At least 1,600 East Germans are estimated to have crossed illegally from Hungary to Austria since May, 1989, when this liberal Soviet bloc nation began dismantling the barriers on its western frontier.
