Ordination was granted to Mr. William E. Nyerges if he is called to serve in specific Christian ministry. “Student in Care” status was extended to John Horvath, Zsolt Takács, István Slakovics. (Continued on page 9) PENTECOST There are four great phases of Pentecost. 1. God sent the cleansing, strengthening and hallowing power of the Holy Spirit upon the frightened hearts of the disciples. During the period from Easter to Pentecost, the disciples hid themselves away from the world. Through the Holy Spirit, the Lord removed the fear of the disciples; He instilled them with courage, and remade them as heroes: they were baptised with the Holy Spirit. 2. The strength of the Holy Spirit inspired them in their teachings of Christ. For almost three years they were constant followers of Christ. They had heard His teachings, seen the miracles He performed, knew of His redeeming power, and now were rearly to testify to this. Up to now, the disciples had shut themselves in, but now they were ready to open the door and to proclaim the living Christ. 3. Now the disciples spoke not only in their own language, but through the power of the Holy Spirit spoke in different tongues, so that not only to the Jews was the miraculous happening of Christ given, but Christ sent them to and for everyone. 4. Many in the crowd who heard the witnessing of the disciples formed a Church. No distinction was made between the Jew, the Roman, or the Greek; for Christ and their love through Him, bound them together as one. They spoke in different tongues, but they spoke about Christ. The Word became flesh for them, and they became a part of that body. Today the believing Church must pray for the gift of the Holy Spirit, so that the Church and its members may profess the living Christ in this unbelieving and Godless world. Francis Vitéz
