Church, The Committee strongly recommends the prompt attention of the Synodical Council in dealing with this issue of concern. a. Inform the Congregation of the Church in question concerning its rights to deal with its assests — property — ownership — right to dispose — in short, information and assistance to take care of this matter. b. Committee further suggests that Council inform other churches of various items that would be available, from a church that is closed or dissolved. Example: bells, organ, etc. II. Committee recommends, that the issue in last years minutes page 38 item “B” regarding the MUSEUM ARCHIVE LIBRARY, that the Task Force continue to find a suitable place to hold and preserve the GREETINGS TO THE 31ST CONVENTION OF THE HUNGARIAN REFORMED FEDERATION OF AMERICA Every four years the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America holds its legislative and executive Convention. The XXXI Convention will be held in Ligonier, Pa. from June 23 through June 27, 1980. In the charitable work of the Bethlen Home our Synod works closely together with the Directors of the Bethlen Home and the Directors of the Federation. Beyond that it is our deeply seated Calvinistic conviction that God works not only through His church, but touches the human hearts and works through organizations, groups and teams to bring his plans to fruition. The Hungarian Reformed Federation is a part of us, and we are a part of the Federation in this work that God has assigned to each in its own field. Therefore the Synodical Council wishes the Right Reverend Arpad George, President of the Federation its officers and delegates a successful Convention that in these historical times the decisions of the Convention may build the future and bring respect to the officers of the Federation and delegates of the Convention. Desmond D. Parragh, bishop various items. Last year the TASK FORCE was not functioning for various reasons. III. Suggestion from COMMITTEE OF FAMILY AND WOMENS CONCERN: They suggest that a Womens Conference would be called together simul taneously with the Calvin Synod Conference — Theme: Family and Womens Concern. a. We, the Recommendation Committee suggest that this group have their meeting at the time of the Ministers Retreat date, instead of at the Conference time. IV. We recommend that the amount of $11,000, as minimum basic salary paid to the minister annually for full service should be increased to $12,000 immediately because of the continuing inflationary trend. V. With The Lakeside Classis overture, we too recommend that there be more synodical Letters and Communications sent out during the year — last year there were not very many. VI. We recommend that the Synod should raise the Synod administration assessment of the churches in our Synod, to $3.50 per member. (Continued on page 8)
