The 40ih Annual Meeting of the Calvin Synod Conference of the United Church of Christ will be held on April 17, 18. 1978 at the Holiday Inn, Ligonier, Pennsylvania. In preparation of the meeting, please (1) Elect yonr church delegates and report their names to the Bishop’s Of­fice no later than April 3. 1978. (2) Send the $150.00 Travel Equalization Quota to Synod Treasurer Z. Király before April 3. 1978. (3) Hotel reservations should also be mailed to the Bishop’s Office BEFORE April 3. 1978. (Single $20, double: $25.) Note: Monday evening banquet will be held! THE CONFERENCE COUNCIL met on Feb. 13, 14 in New York City to prepare the Synod Meeting and to deal with pertinent Synod matters. UCC YEARBOOK is mailed only to those who order it for $7.00 OF OUR 39 ACTIVE CHURCHES 25 returned the statistical forms in due time, 7 were late and 7 failed to re­turn them. By denominational practice, last year’s figures were submitted for the late and “no answer” churches. Please, do not expect the Synod now to change data! ACCORDING TO THE STATISTICAL DATA the mem­bership of our Synod increased by 250 members due to two congregations ... OUR TREASURER reported that we have received $5,- 688.28 for the Johnstown Flood Relief, and $13,186.35 for the Transylvanian Earthquake Relief Fund. YOUTH CAMP DATE IS CHANGED: it will be held from Aug. 20 through 26 at First Presbyterian Church Camp, Ligonier, Pa. Camp director Rev. A. Szilagyi will soon mail detailed information to churches and campers. Synod is determined to keep the expenses for campers on present level! WALLINGFORD IS VACANT: The Rev. Dr. László Beizeviczy has resigned as of March 31, 1978 on account of his retirement. Interested persons are to notify the Bishop’s Office! OTHER VACANCIES: The McKeesport Free Church elected the Rev. Csaba Orosz, while the Niles Church called on the Rev. Zoltán Szűcs. Thus, Sharon, Phoenixville and Wharton are still vacant in non-Synod churches, and Coates­­ville has temporary supply in our Synod. ANNUAL REPORTS BOOKS of the local congregations are appreciated in the Bishop’s Office. Please, mail a copy. OUR MORGANTOWN CHURCH has now the Rev. Alexander Jalso as supply pastor. THE RT. REV. MATHIAS DAROCZY passed away on January 14, 1978 in Florida at the age of 81. He served as president of our Synod and retired in 1963 from Cleveland West Side. THE MOTHER of Synod-Presbyter Dr. J. Piri died on Nov. 14, 1977 in Hungary. Our financial advisor John Kor­­mendy died on Jan. 6. May we be comforted by the Gospel! DR. ARTHUR A. LL1DWIG was taken to the hospital on Feb. 24 with heart attack. The Indiana Harbor church plans to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his services on June 25. THE REV. JULIUS PAAL celebrated his 40 years of Christian ministry on Nov. 27, 1977 in Los Angeles. CLASSIS MEETINGS: Eastern on March 5 at Passaic, Lake Side on Apr. 10 in Cleveland First. PALM SUNDAY CONFERENCE of the Eastern Clas­­sis will be held in Bridgeport. “At the 25th .Milestone” will he the topic of Dr. Havadtoy. “HUNGARIAN HERITAGE MONTH” was observed in Bridgeport during January.
