2 CALVIN SYNOD HERALD SYNOD NEWS The Rt. Rev. Dr. John Butosi Bishop 963 Laurel Ave. Bridgeport, Conn. 06604 (203) 368-3658 THE YEAR BOOK REPORTS were handled again in the usual undisciplined and irresponsible way: of the 39 active churches 14 did not return the completed form on time. Four are still out. “He who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much’’ (Luke 16:10). The Synod Meeting should also be concerned with membership reporting. In 1976 we gained 63 members, and lost 308! How long can we afford that some churches report all voting members, others only part of them? “He who is dishonest in a very little is dishonest also in much.” PASTORS ARE URGED to return the “Supplementary Report” and the “Ministerial Support Form” right after the Congregational Meeting. February 20, 1977 was the deadline. THE YOUTH CAMP DATE is changed from August 7-13 to August 14-20 (one week later) due to changes in school closing necessitated by snow and energy crises. HUNGARIAN BIBLES in the new translation arrived to the Bishop’s office. We have 100 copies, and as soon as the price can be determined they can be purchased. First, we want every pastor to have one copy. IN MEMÓRIÁM. Mr. William Matusz, a long-time elder and church-worker of our Johnstown, Pa. congregation passed away on January 3, 1977.
