14 CALVIN SYNOD HERALD AMERICAN BICENTENNIAL CITATION OF THE CALVIN SYNOD CONFERENCE OF THE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST presented to The Right Reverend Dr. Stephen M. Böszörményi-Bessemer in grateful recognition and appreciation for his more than 50 years of consecrated, courageous and constructive ministry in the same congregation, the United Church of Christ (Hungarian Evangelical and Reformed Church) of Bridgeport, Connecticut and Vicinity. During this time he distinguished himself as a tireless, scholarly, pioneering servant of our Lord Jesus Christ and His Kingdom who organized several religious, fraternal and civic organizations, among them the American Hungarian National Christian Endeavor Union; who founded, edited and published numerous books, pamphlets, magazines, among them our Reformátusok Lapja; who served in many civic, fraternal and religious organizations as leader, among them as Stated Clerk of the Eastern Hungarian Classis for 20 years and President of the Magyar Synod for 4 years; who represented our Hungarian and Reformed people in local, national and world bodies, among them in 9 General Synod Meetings and at the Assembly of the World Council of Churches; who, during his pastorate, built not only a magnificent church (1944-46) and Center (1969-70), but also a congregation which is an example of generosity, sacrifice and faithfulness. In witness whereof we affixed our signature and corporate seal on the 11th day of May in the year of our Lord, 1976 at the Thirty-eighth Annual Meeting of The Calvin Synod, held on the campus of Wesley Theological Seminary, Washington, D.C. AMERICAN BICENTENNIAL CITATION OF THE CALVIN SYNOD CONFERENCE OF THE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST presented to THE REVEREND EDMUND VASVARY in grateful recognition and appreciation for his 62 years of devoted service in America as a Christian pastor, a tireless witness of his faith, and one who has distinguished himself as an outstanding historian, chronicler and researcher of the Hungarian immigrant and immigration in America; for his devoted public ministry serving as comptroller of the Hungarian Reformed Federation of America from 1936 through 1957; and for his inspiring example in utilizing his years of retirement for collecting and organizing some 375 volumes of material in manuscript, document and pamphlet forms about Hungarians containing some 12,000 entries. Reményik Sándor megjelentetett könyvnek és Béky püspök legszebb írásait, prédikációit, hazafias beszédeit, előadásait és gyászbeszédeit tartalmazza. Béky Zoltán minden sorában megmarad magyar református püspöknek. Minden cikkéből kisugárzik fajtáját féltő szeretete.
