THE ORDERLY TRANSFER of the Synod Treasury took place on July 7 at South Norwalk, Conn. Bishop Beretz also turned over the files of the Synod. 2. THE CONFERENCE COUNCIL had its first official meeting on Sept. 3 and 4 in Ligonier, Pa. and acted on several pending issues including student loans, sending an expression of s' mpathy to the family of the late Bishop László Ravasz, the memorandum concerning the situation of human lights of the Hungarian minority in Rumania, diaspora ministry and the Hungarian Reformed Church Uniting, etc. 3. REPORTS TO THE BETHLEN ALMANAC are overdue. Pastors are requested to mail reports and pictures without delay to the Superintendent of the Bethlen Home. 4. VACANCIES include: (a) Coatesville, Pa. Contact Bishop’s office if interested, (b) Buffalo, N.Y. Rev. Bela Pohoczky was elected to Phoenixville, Pa. on Sept. 14. Bishop’s Office gives further information, (c) Gary, Ind. ($13,680.00 package salary is offered.) Deputy Bishop Desmond D. Parragh is tlie administrator, (d) Elyria, Ohio. Rev. Béla Bacsó resigned as of Oct. 31, 1975. Contact the Bishop’s Office or the Western Reserve Association of the Ohio Conference ($11,600.00 plus parsonage). 5. THE REV. DENES TAMÁS assumed the pastorate of our Grace Community Church in Bethlehem, Pa. on Aug. 15. 6. CLASSIS MEETINGS: The Eastern Classis had its Fall Workers Conference on Oct. 12 in Bridgeport, Conn. —The Central Classis will meet on Oct. 26 in Pittsburgh, Pa. and celebrate the 85th anniversary of the local church at the same time. 7. CONGREGATIONS CELEBRATE: Indiana Harbor Golden Anniversary and Manville 60th Anniversary on Sept. 21, Passaic 80th Anniversary, Kalamazoo 60th Anniversary on Sept. 28, New York 69th St. Church 80th Anniversary on Oct. 19; Norridge (Chicago West Side) 60th Anniversary on Nov. 2. 8. REV. ANDREW HAMZA was installed as pastor of our Manville Church on Sept. 21. 9. CHANGE OF ADDRESS: The Revs. Alexander and Maria Babos from Bethlehem to R.F.D. 1, Box 311-B, Northfield, Mass. 01306 (Phone: 413- 498-2662) ; The Rev. and Mrs. Victor G. THE CALVIN SYNOD NEWS, this informal communication channel of our fellowship, is published again by the Bishop’s Office. The first issue was mailed to our clergy and lay leaders of 25 congregations (whose pastors returned the statistical forms early this year). In the future it will be mailed to anyone who requests it. 12. BISHOP BUTOSI wishes to thank all who were present at his Installation Service on September 1 at Ligonier, Pa., or who sent greetings and good wishes through the mail, literally from all continents.
