The hospital which sponsors the clinic program — Evangelical Presbyterian Church Hospital at Adidome — is supported by the United Church Board for World Ministries. In addition to the Well-Baby Clinics, the hospital had 3.000 admissions last year and 30,000 out-patient visits, and performed 1,500 operations — all with a staff of two doctors and 25 nurses! WILL YOUR CHURCH SUPPORT A CHILD? Every one of us sees the variety of plans advertised in magazines and newspapers. “Give to help support a child overseas,” they say, and many of us respond with both love and dollars. But did you know that you can participate in such a plan through your own church? Last year, the United Church Board for World Ministries, through its program of Overseas Child Sponsorships, related some 248 children in seven countries to U.S. sponsors. The cost of such sponsorship is usually $10 to $15 per month, since the Board carries out the program through its Service Division without separate administrative expense. When you want to establish such a direct relationship, you need go no further than your own church. It’s good to know! FOR MEN ONLY One of the problems of the church may be seen in the following stanza: “Take my WIFE and let her be, Consecrated, Lord to Thee: Help her now Thy will to see, But please, Dear Lord, don’t count on me.” Now, all together men — SING IT!! — from Impact, Eastern Virginia Assoc.
