Proud of Our Youth The Combined Hungarian Youth Summer Camp From July 29th through August 4Ih of this year, in Laurelville, Pennsylvania, the annual Hungarian Youth Camp was held. Almost 100 folks, counselors, CIT’s, other staff and, of course, the youth attended this year’s session. The topic for the week was SURVIVOR - the Christian Adventure, and it was similar in many ways to the popular television show of the same name. Our main emphasis was to begin to prepare and equip the campers for their daily struggle with the forces of evil that try to play an important role in all of our lives. During the week there were different speakers who gave presentations covering many different topics to help the campers and these were followed by question and answer sessions where the campers could get help with special problems that they were having. There were Bible studies, daily recreational activities, a half day service project at the Bethlen Home, different evening events and a very moving rededication and Holy Communion service at the end of the week for all those in attendance. In conclusion, we would like to thank the HRFA for their financial support of the camp and say how much easier it is to make plans for events like this knowing that there are people who care about the youth of our churches in this country and are willing to support their activities.
